National Champions of Barbecue Ribs
Kansas City, Mo., is to barbecue what Chicago is to deep-dish pizza. So imagine the reaction when an upstart team from Red Bank, N.J., crossed over the Mississippi River, slathered pork ribs with its signature sauce, and walked off with first-place honors at the 30th annual American Royal BBQ Competition.

Fat Angel BBQ in Red Bank earns heat cred;
ribs win World Series of Barbecue
Almost immediately after Fat Angel BBQ claimed first place for its Texas-style brisket at the National BBQ Festival in Douglas, Ga., earlier this year, the muttering started.
"Did y’all hear that Jersey won for brisket?" one Lone Star pitmaster said to another, the "Jersey" spit out in that contemptuous tone typically reserved for, well, how people usually talk about New Jersey. More>> 10/16/09

New Jersey BBQ team wins 1st Place Ribs at the World Series of BBQ Fat Angel BBQ of NJ wins 1st place in the Pork Rib Category against almost 500 teams from throughout the country at the American Royal BBQ contest in Kansas City, MO.

Uncle Robby's Woods Teams Up with Local Smoke BBQ
Local Smoke BBQ announced that Uncle Robby's BBQ Smoking Woods of Elizabeth, NJ will be their exclusive supplier of BBQ wood. The two companies want to bring good down south smoked BBQ to the northeast.
